It's a time where most people reflect on the year gone by and I am no different. For me, 2018 has been a landmark year in the business, and in particular, the year I have established a level of confidence that I can really do this.
Q4 2018 was the first quarter than the business has turned a profit on paper after thousands of pounds of investment. That for me has been a real milestone as at the very least, I have proven to myself that this is a viable business and not just an expensive vanity project. As you all know, profits from the business will be partially reinvested in my local community and that leads me onto my highlights of the year.
This year, I have been in a position to support my local school and rugby club. Both are institutions which have done so much for me in the past - and I genuinely believe I wouldn't be where I am today had it not been for these places during my formative years. That is why I am delighted to have supported them both with a sum well into the region of 4 figures.
Another highlight of the year for me was getting the opportunity to work at some events which were particularly close to people hearts such as a milestone wedding anniversary and also a significant charity function for a good friend. For people to take a leap of faith on me, without a proven track record was humbling to say the least. I will always be appreciative of those opportunities.
As I've announced, I'm going to be carrying out a review of the business to make sure that 2019 builds on the success of 2018. If you have any comments at all, I would really appreciate you getting in touch with them. The more money the business generates, the more investment that will be made into local good causes.
I hope you, your friends and family all have a very prosperous 2019. Best wishes for it!
